The Karaiskakio Foundation is a non-profit organization with a distinguished presence in the humanitarian and scientific fields in Cyprus for over 30 years. Evolving into a world-class multidisciplinary centre, the Foundation specializes in hematology, oncology, cancer genetics, and the study of rare and genetic diseases.

 

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Accounting Officer to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established organisation, contribute to meaningful work, and develop professionally within a supportive and experienced team.

Department: Finance & Accounting

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-5 years of proven experience in a similar accounting role
• Strong knowledge of VAT declarations, Intrastat, and VIES reporting
• Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management
• Good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping
• Very good knowledge of Greek and English, both written and spoken
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (considered an advantage)

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional qualification (LCCI Higher, CAT, ACA/ACCA or equivalent) or working towards one
• Prior experience in a non-profit or charitable organisation
• Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record accounting transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
• Process supplier invoices, receipts and payments
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Reconcile customer, supplier, and general ledger accounts
• Prepare and submit Intrastat, VIES, and VAT declarations
• Assist with payroll and other finance administration when required
• Support monthly and annual account closing processes
• Collaborate with external auditors and other partners as required
• Carry out day-to-day tasks as assigned

Το Καραϊσκάκειο Ίδρυμα είναι ένας μή κερδοσκοπικός οργανισμός που δημιουργήθηκε το 1996, με σκοπό την δημιουργία του Κυπριακού Αρχείου Δοτών Μυελού των Οστών. Σήμερα, το Ίδρυμα έχει το μεγαλύτερο σε αναλογία πληθυσμού Αρχείο Δοτών ανα το παγκόσμιο, και ταυτόχρονα καλύπτει ένα εντυπωσιακό φάσμα εργαστηριακών εξετάσεων που καλύπτει αιματολογικές κακοήθειες και άλλες συναφείς παθήσεις . Εχει οργανώσει και λειτουργεί ένα δίκτυο εξειδικευμένων βιοϊατρικών εργαστηρίων που σχεδιάστηκαν για να προσφέρουν σφαιρική και ολοκληρωμένη εργαστηριακή υποστήριξη στους ασθενείς με αιματο-ογκολογικές κακοήθειες. Τα εργαστήρια του Ιδρύματος περιλαμβάνουν διαπιστευμένα εργαστήρια, ανοσογενετικής, κυτταρομετρίας ροής, μοριακής αιματολογίας, και εργαστήριο γονιδιωματικής/ μοριακής κυτταρογενετικής. Το Κέντρο Μελέτης Αιματολογικών και Άλλων Κακοηθειών  είναι μη κερδοσκοπικό Σωματείο και συστεγάζεται με το Καραϊσκάκειο Ίδρυμα.  Ο κύριος σκοπός του Κέντρου είναι η προώθηση της επιστημονικής και τεχνολογικής ανάπτυξης και καινοτομίας στο χώρο της αιματολογίας και ογκλολογίας και η δημιουργία μιας σύγχρονης ερευνητικής μονάδας για την εκπόνηση υψηλού επιπέδου πρωτοποριακής έρευνας στο ευρύτερο τομέα της αιματολογίας και ογκολογίας
