CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established Investment Firm with offices in the heart of Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a Compliance Officer to join their growing team. A newly created, and stand-alone position, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Company’s compliance activities, working closely with Senior Management. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, who hold at least 2+ years of proven experience in the compliance field. Holders of any professional compliance qualifications are encouraged to apply, and fluency in both Greek and English is a must. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer based on skills and experience, and working hours are from 09:00 – 17:45 from Monday to Thursday, and from 09:00 – 16:30 each Friday. This is a fully onsite position.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Company’s compliance activities.
• Develop and update corporate policies, procedures (AML, Due Diligence, Anti-bribery, and Corruption etc) and internal controls.
• Monitor compliance governance processes and reporting mechanisms.
• Develop compliance monitoring plans and perform periodic reviews.
• Identify compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and support teams in implementing effective controls.
• Promote a strong ethical culture throughout the organisation.
• Develop compliance awareness programmes and deliver trainings.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable Cyprus legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments, of the company’s international operations
• Advise management on the impact of new laws and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors where specialist jurisdictional advice is required.
• Support management in implementing good corporate governance practices.
• Maintain compliance registers, reporting and regulatory documentation.
• Support internal and external compliance audits.
• Assist in regulatory inspections.
• Investigate compliance incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain records of compliance findings and remediation activities.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Professional compliance qualification is considered an advantage.
• 2 - 4 years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, or risk management.
• Experience within international regulatory environments, would be an advantage.
• Fluency in Greek & English.
