In cooperation with UNICEF, the Akelius Languages Online GmbH develops a language  learning application. 
Currently, the language course is available in  eleven languages.  Swedish, English, Greek, French, Italian,  Spanish, German, Portuguese, Polish and Arabic. 

 

You will be based in our Nicosia office.

 

Key responsibilities

• creating online and analog material for the Portuguese language course for web and mobile applications in a professional agile team
• translate and adapt the master English version into Portuguese
• design and develop language specific grammar lessons
• draft the lessons using an authoring tool
• keep all project documentation up to date
• support the team with quality assurance tasks
• translate learning material such as easy-to-read books and workbooks
• be the voice over artist for Portuguese

 

Depending on workload and project priorities, additional tasks could also be part of this role.

requirements for this position

• expert user of Portuguese
• fluent in English
• working knowledge of the MS Office suite
• flexible and creative
• self-motivated and organized
• previous experience as a translator or experience teaching a language as a second language is a plus
• previous experience with an online authoring tool is a plus
• speaking any other language that is available as course is a plus
