Job Description
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established owner and operator of commercial real estate assets across Europe, we are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their growing team based in Limassol. Reporting to the CFO, and working alongside another Financial Controller, you will oversee all accounting operations, including reviewing monthly accounting records for a group of companies, whilst ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, Management, or another related field, who possess at least 5 years working experience in a similar position, and who are members of a professional accounting body (ACCA, ACA, CPA). Experience with SAP and CaseWare will be considered an advantage, and fluency in both verbal and written Greek and English is a must. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a generous base salary, annual discretionary bonus based on performance, flexible working hours and provident fund.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including review of monthly accounting records for a group of companies.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions.
- Review quarterly accounting procedures including intercompany reconciliations and interest calculations.
- Ensure timely payment of company’s obligations to suppliers, tax authorities, and other parties.
- Ensure VAT and corporate income tax compliance.
- Prepare, upload, and monitor the annual budgets as well as perform forecasting and variance analysis.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS for a group of companies.
- Cooperation with the company’s external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors during the audit period.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and other financial transactions.
- Assist in monitoring and reviewing external and internal financing and covenant compliance.
- Ensure that financial policies and internal controls are developed and updated according to group’s policies.
- Support the local Finance Director in relevant meetings with the Management, as necessary.
- Liaise with external associates such banks, auditors, clients, etc.
- Monitor and oversee the analysis of key performance indicators.
- Supervise and train accounting staff.
- Support ad-hoc financial requests and analysis.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field.
- Member of a professional accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CPA).
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- At least 5 years working experience in a similar position.
- Experience with SAP and CaseWare will be an advantage.
- Fluency in Greek and English.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Dynamic with an ability to solve problems and provide results.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
