Job Description
Position Overview
As an Interior / Lighting Designer, you will work alongside our design team to develop lighting concepts from the initial design stage through construction. You will participate in creating lighting layouts, technical drawings, specifications, presentations, and site coordination while collaborating with architects, interior designers, engineers, and suppliers.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining creativity with technical precision.
Key Responsibilities
Lighting Design
- Develop lighting concepts for residential, hospitality, commercial and landscape projects.
- Produce lighting layouts and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs).
- Select decorative and architectural lighting fixtures.
- Prepare mood boards and lighting presentations.
- Create lighting specifications and schedules.
- Coordinate lighting design with architectural and interior design teams.
- Review manufacturers' technical documentation and photometric files.
- Perform lighting calculations using Relux or DIALux.
- Prepare detailed lighting reports.
Interior Design Coordination
- Coordinate lighting with interior finishes and furniture layouts.
- Review architectural drawings and identify coordination issues.
- Assist in developing design concepts.
- Coordinate with MEP consultants and automation specialists.
- Participate in design meetings with clients and consultants.
Technical Documentation
Produce:
- AutoCAD drawings
- Lighting layouts
- Ceiling plans
- Sections
- Lighting details
- Fixture schedules
- BOQs
- Tender documentation
- Revision drawings
- Installation details
Project Support
- Attend site meetings.
- Prepare meeting minutes.
- Assist during site inspections.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers.
- Support project managers throughout all design phases.
- Ensure drawings comply with office standards.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design, Architectural Lighting Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience (Junior candidates with exceptional portfolios will also be considered).
- Excellent understanding of architectural detailing.
- Strong spatial awareness.
- Excellent design presentation skills.
Software Requirements
Applicants should have good knowledge of:
- AutoCAD (Essential)
