As a Junior Fixed and Mobile Core Network Engineer, you’ll be part of the team behind the technologies that keep our customers connected. You’ll gain hands-on experience, work alongside experienced engineers, and build the skills needed to grow in the world of telecommunications.

 

What you will do:

• Ensure reliability. Operate and maintain the platforms behind every call, message and megabyte across Cyprus – subscriber data (HLR/HSS), the packet core carrying LTE and 5G NSA (GGSN, SGW, PGW), signalling and interconnect (SMSC, STP, DRA), and the fixed telephony core.
• Fix what breaks. Own second-line faults — configuration, performance, service behaviour — and follow them to root cause, not workaround. The obvious answer is usually wrong; that’s what makes the work interesting. When the problem sits with a roaming partner, an interconnect or a vendor, you’re the one who picks up the phone. As a junior. We don’t put people behind layers.
• See it coming. Monitor mobility, signalling and performance KPIs closely enough to spot a degradation before a customer does, and lead the root-cause analysis when something moves.
• Deliver what customers ordered. Work alongside OSS/BSS and IT colleagues on provisioning, service orders, charging and service assurance, so you see the full path from a customer pressing “buy” to a service going live.
• Build what’s next. Join core network evolution projects: new capabilities, capacity expansions, upgrades and vendor-led initiatives. You will be in the room while the network changes, not reading about it afterwards.

This role includes participation in a rotational standby rota. Sometimes the phone may ring at 03:00 but you will always have a team behind you, ready to support you through the challenge.

 

Technologies you will work with:

• LTE EPC and 5G NSA core platforms
• Subscriber data systems (HLR / HSS)
• Packet core elements (GGSN / SGW / PGW) and related interfaces
• Signalling and interconnection platforms (SMSC, STP, DRA)
• Fixed telephony core platforms (Application Server, SBC, IVR)
• OSS / BSS systems

You will succeed in this role if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience in telecom network operations or support and exposure to fixed or mobile related core platforms is considered an advantage
• Understanding of mobility, signalling, and packet core KPIs will be considered as an advantage
• A proactive, analytical mindset and a genuine interest in how core networks come together end to end and along with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues in a structured and methodical way
• Fluency in Greek and good command of English
