Part-Time Accountant (9203)
Job Description
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established hospitality and cosmetics supplier, with offices in the heart of Nicosia, we are seeking to recruit a Part-Time Accountant to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accurate recording of financial transactions. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, who possess previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting. Good knowledge of accounting principles is essential, and experience working with accounting software, such as SAP Business One, SoftOne, Epsilon Net, QuickBooks, or similar, will be considered an advantage. Excellent communication skills in both Greek and English is a must. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, based on skills and experience, and you will be required to work approximately 15 – 20 hours per week during standard working hours.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Record supplier invoices and credit notes.
- Process customer invoices and receipts.
- Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate accounting records.
- Prepare supplier payment schedules.
- Maintain fixed asset and expense records.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures.
- File and organize accounting documents.
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and government authorities when required.
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc accounting tasks.
Key Skills/Experience:
- An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience with accounting software (SAP Business One, SoftOne, Epsilon Net, QuickBooks, or similar) is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in a trading, retail, wholesale, or distribution company.
- Experience with inventory accounting.
- Knowledge of VAT procedures in Cyprus.
- Experience with import documentation and supplier invoices.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills in Greek and English.
- Highly organized, reliable, accurate, confidential, proactive.
- Team player.
- Strong time management skills.
