We are looking for someone who is energized by the opportunity to inspect, manage and maintain our villas and apartments and enhance our guests' experience.

 

The Role:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Property Inspector & Handyman to join a team-based maintenance and inspection crew supporting short-term rental properties. Team members work assigned morning or afternoon shifts, with rotating weekend coverage, ensuring properties are consistently safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready. Different team members cover different shifts based on a scheduled rotation.

 

Key Responsibilities

Property Inspections

• Conduct routine inspections before and after guest stays
• Check for damages, missing items, excessive wear, or safety hazards
• Verify cleanliness standards and report housekeeping issues
• Inspect appliances, HVAC, plumbing fixtures, lighting, doors, windows, and locks
• Ensure inventory items (linens, towels, kitchenware, supplies) are complete and in good condition
• Document findings with photos and written reports

Handyman & Maintenance Tasks

• Perform minor repairs (e.g., replacing light fixtures, faucets, door handles, blinds, outlet covers)
• Patch and touch up paint, drywall, and minor cosmetic damage
• Assemble or repair furniture as needed
• Troubleshoot basic electrical and plumbing issues (non-licensed work only)
• Replace filters, batteries (smoke detectors, remotes, locks), and air fresheners
• Coordinate with property manager for larger repairs requiring licensed contractors

Guest-Readiness & Emergency Support

• Prepare units for same-day turnovers when needed
• Respond to urgent maintenance requests during guest stays
• Assist with lockouts and basic appliance troubleshooting
• Ensure safety equipment (smoke detectors, fire extinguishers) is functional

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or property inspector
• Familiarity with short-term rental standards (Airbnb/VRBO preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair
• Smartphone proficiency for photos, checklists, and communication
