Terminal Operator
Job Description
A terminal operator manages the safe loading, unloading, and transfer of liquid fuels at a storage tank or the loading bays.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Transfer Operations: Load and unload products via trucks, pipelines, or sea vessels;
- Inventory Management: Gauge storage tanks, take product samples, read meters, and calculate inventory levels.
- Safety and Compliance: Inspect equipment, follow strict safety rules (like lockout/tagout), and comply with environmental and government safety guidelines
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic upkeep and routine checks on pumps, valves, and facility machinery.
- Record Keeping: Log daily activities, report equipment failures, and complete shipping or receiving reports.
Job Requirements and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A university degree in Engineering will be considered as an advantage.
- Ability to lift, up to 50–100 lbs, climb stairs or ladders, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, attention to detail.
