Περιγραφή Ρόλου&nbsp;Ο/Η Μηχανικός Συστημάτων Λογισμικού (Software Systems Engineer) είναι υπεύθυνος/η για τη διασφάλιση της συνεχούς αξιοπιστίας, διαθεσιμότητας και απόδοσης των web εφαρμογών και της υποδομής τους. Ως κρίσιμο σημείο κλιμάκωσης από την υποστήριξη επιπέδου L1, ο ρόλος καλύπτει προληπτική παρακολούθηση, διαχείριση περιστατικών, αυτοματοποίηση και συνεργασία μεταξύ ομάδων — αποτελώντας τον επιχειρησιακό πυρήνα του οργανισμού μηχανικής.&nbsp;Σε στενή συνεργασία με την ομάδα ανάπτυξης λογισμικού, ο Μηχανικός Συστημάτων Λογισμικού συμβάλλει ενεργά στην ενίσχυση των επιχειρησιακών πρακτικών, προωθώντας βελτιώσεις στην παρατηρησιμότητα (observability), την σταθερότητα των συστημάτων και την μακροπρόθεσμη αξιοπιστία της πλατφόρμας.&nbsp;Κύριες Αρμοδιότητες<ul><li>Παρακολούθηση και διαχείριση των web εφαρμογών και της υποδομής, συμπεριλαμβανομένων application servers, βάσεων δεδομένων και ενσωματωμένων εργαλείων.</li><li>Διαχείριση περιστατικών παραγωγής (production incidents) που κλιμακώνονται από την υποστήριξη L1 και συμβολή στην επίλυση μέτριας έως υψηλής σοβαρότητας προβλημάτων.</li><li>Εντοπισμός και επίλυση προβλημάτων εφαρμογών και υποδομών χρησιμοποιώντας logs, metrics και διαγνωστικά συστήματος.</li><li>Συντήρηση, ρύθμιση και βελτίωση δυνατοτήτων monitoring, alerting και observability σε συνεργασία με την ομάδα DevOps.</li><li>Εφαρμογή, έλεγχος και συντήρηση αλλαγών παραμετροποίησης σε:<ul><li>Application servers</li><li>Βάσεις δεδομένων</li><li>CRM και άλλες εφαρμογές</li></ul></li><li>Συμμετοχή σε ανάλυση αιτίας (Root Cause Analysis – RCA) για επαναλαμβανόμενα ή σημαντικά περιστατικά και υποστήριξη διορθωτικών και προληπτικών ενεργειών.</li><li>Υποστήριξη πρωτοβουλιών αυτοματοποίησης και λύσεων για μείωση χειροκίνητης εργασίας.</li><li>Συνεργασία με ομάδες ανάπτυξης λογισμικού, υποδομών και ασφάλειας κατά την επίλυση περιστατικών και αναβαθμίσεων στο σύστημα.</li><li>Υποστήριξη αλλαγών και αναβαθμίσεων και αλλαγών υποδομής βάσει διαδικασιών change management.</li><li>Επικοινωνία με εξωτερικούς συνεργάτες εργαλείων κατά τη διάρκεια διακοπών ή κλιμακώσεων (ειδικά για CRM/enterprise εφαρμογές).</li><li>Συμμετοχή σε on-call βάρδιες και τήρηση διαδικασιών αντιμετώπισης περιστατικών.</li><li>Συντήρηση και ενημέρωση επιχειρησιακής τεκμηρίωσης (documentation).</li><li>Υποστήριξη συστημάτων backup (όχι απαραίτητα σχεδιασμός τους).</li><li>Περιστασιακή εργασία εκτός ωραρίου για συντήρηση και αναβάθμιση.</li><li>Διασφάλιση ότι τα περιβάλλοντα λειτουργούν ομαλά, είναι version-controlled και ευθυγραμμισμένα μεταξύ ανάπτυξης (Staging), Sandbox και Live.</li><li>Συντήρηση και υποστήριξη CI/CD pipelines που έχουν σχεδιαστεί από την ομάδα DevOps, διασφαλίζοντας την ομαλή λειτουργία τους και αναφέροντας προβλήματα ή ανάγκες βελτίωσης.</li><li>Βελτίωση της συχνότητας και αξιοπιστίας των deployments μέσω αυτοματοποίησης και βελτιστοποίησης pipelines.</li><li>Λειτουργία και παρακολούθηση cloud υποδομών στο AWS, όπως έχουν σχεδιαστεί και διατεθεί από την ομάδα DevOps, διασφαλίζοντας ότι οι πόροι είναι υγιείς, διαθέσιμοι και ευθυγραμμισμένοι με τις επιχειρησιακές ανάγκες.</li></ul>&nbsp;Δεξιότητες &amp; Εμπειρία<ul><li>Πτυχίο BSc/MSc στην Πληροφορική ή συναφές αντικείμενο.</li><li>2+ χρόνια σχετικής επαγγελματικής εμπειρίας.</li><li>Εμπειρία υποστήριξης web εφαρμογών σε παραγωγικό περιβάλλον.</li><li>Καλή γνώση servers, βάσεων δεδομένων και αρχιτεκτονικής εφαρμογών.</li><li>Πρακτική εμπειρία σε cloud πλατφόρμες, ιδιαίτερα AWS, και εξοικείωση με σύγχρονα monitoring εργαλεία (π.χ. Acting as a key technical escalation point from L1 support, the role combines software engineering, systems operations, DevOps collaboration, automation and production support responsibilities.&nbsp;Working closely with the Development Team, the Software Systems Engineer supports the continuous improvement of platform stability, deployment reliability, observability and operational excellence. The role plays an important part in maintaining high service availability while supporting and operating within established CI/CD practices, cloud-native infrastructure and enterprise application ecosystems&nbsp;Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Monitor, maintain and optimize the health, performance and availability of software systems, web applications, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure.</li><li>Handle and resolve production incidents escalated from L1 support, taking ownership of medium- to high-severity operational issues through to resolution.</li><li>Troubleshoot software, infrastructure and integration issues using logs, metrics, tracing, monitoring platforms and system diagnostics.</li><li>Collaborate with software engineering and DevOps teams to improve system reliability, scalability, observability and operational maturity.</li><li>Apply, validate, and maintain configuration changes across:<ul><li>Application servers</li><li>Databases</li><li>CRM and enterprise platforms</li></ul></li><li>Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines designed by the DevOps team, ensuring deployment processes operate reliably and efficiently.</li><li>Improve deployment frequency, release reliability and operational efficiency through automation, scripting and pipeline optimization.</li><li>Operate and monitor AWS cloud environments, ensuring infrastructure resources remain healthy, secure, available, and aligned with operational standards.</li><li>Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) activities for recurring or critical incidents and contribute to preventive and corrective improvements.</li><li>Support automation initiatives, self-healing mechanisms, and operational tooling to reduce manual intervention and improve service resilience.</li><li>Collaborate with development, infrastructure, QA teams during deployments, incident response, system upgrades and production changes.</li><li>Support software releases, patches, maintenance activities and infrastructure upgrades following established change management procedures.</li><li>Proactively identify system bottlenecks, performance degradation and resource constraints before they impact production services.</li><li>Maintain accurate operational documentation, runbooks, system procedures and knowledge base articles.</li><li>Support backup verification, disaster recovery readiness and business continuity operational procedures.</li><li>Occasionally work outside standard business hours to support maintenance windows, deployments, or critical incidents.</li></ul>&nbsp;Skills &amp; Experience<ul><li>BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.</li><li>2+ years of experience in software systems engineering, technical operations, production support, DevOps support, or site reliability engineering roles.</li><li>Experience supporting production web applications and distributed software systems.</li><li>Strong understanding of application architectures, APIs, servers, databases, networking, and cloud infrastructure concepts.</li><li>Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and modern observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus.</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.</li><li>Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and incident management skills.</li><li>Understanding of system reliability, performance optimization, monitoring, and operational best practices.</li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in fast-paced production environments and manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.</li></ul>&nbsp;To apply for this vacancy, please send your CV, along with any cover letter to&nbsp;<a href="mailto:hr@omakaservices.com">hr@omakservices.com</a>&nbsp;quoting the above job title.
