JOB PURPOSEThe Assistant Chief Engineer will ensure that all Maintenance associated operations run smoothly and in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering the highest possible standards of service to all guests, through the effective development, management and leadership of the department’ human resources, equipment and provisions.&nbsp;KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES<ul><li>Deputise the Chief Engineer in their absence,</li><li>Manage all day-to-day Maintenance operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards, coordinating resources to ensure that all possible issues are efficiently resolved,</li><li>Ensure the daily supervision of all subordinates in the department,</li><li>Have a complete understanding of all Maintenance operations, the geographical layouts and the exact whereabouts and functioning of all equipment of an operational nature,</li><li>Implement and ensure the training of subordinates,</li><li>Perform daily and weekly property document inspections,</li><li>Ensure maintenance is carried out based on the annual maintenance schedule,</li><li>Manage other daily duties: assist with plans, forecasts, financial reports, creating systems and procedures; prepare reports for departments,</li><li>Monitor all Maintenance activities by actively participating in the operations and inspections, be vigilantly attentive to details, produce quality and standards,</li><li>Develop, implement and manage energy and resources conservation programs for the property to minimise costs,</li><li>Ensure that all costs and margins meet Hotel targets, identify the trends/reasons, monitor price fluctuations, liaise with the superiors, make suggestions and take appropriate action,</li><li>Monitor all Maintenance-related front and back areas to ensure upmost cleanliness, physical condition and functioning equipment,</li></ul>&nbsp;GENERAL<ul><li>Follow the Hotel’s internal operating regulations as per the Employee’s Handbook,</li><li>Follow the staff rotas in accordance with business levels; inform their superior should there be any problems with their scheduled working hours,</li><li>Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with all team members and suppliers,</li><li>Perform the duties with maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner,</li><li>Comply with Cyprus legislation and be conversant with and act in accordance with any such matters relating to their department,</li><li>Attend and contribute to all staff meetings/briefings and other related activities</li></ul>
