TEACHING&nbsp;VACANCY&nbsp;AMERICAN ACADEMY LARNACA&nbsp;&nbsp;Pre-Primary&nbsp;School&nbsp;Teacher&nbsp;(Maternity Leave Cover)&nbsp;&nbsp;The American Academy&nbsp;Larnaca&nbsp;is a selective educational institution with an outstanding reputation and strong academic history,&nbsp;operating&nbsp;since 1908.&nbsp;The Academy’s&nbsp;motto&nbsp;“To Grow and to Serve”&nbsp;underlies the philosophy of the Academy and&nbsp;encourages all children to&nbsp;be leading citizens and lifelong learners.&nbsp;&nbsp;We&nbsp;seek&nbsp;to recruit a&nbsp;full-time&nbsp;Pre-Primary&nbsp;School&nbsp;Teacher&nbsp;(Maternity Leave Cover)&nbsp;to join our teaching team at the American Academy&nbsp;Larnaca&nbsp;Junior School, starting&nbsp;1st&nbsp;September 2026.&nbsp;&nbsp;We offer:<ul><li>Competitive&nbsp;remuneration&nbsp;package&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Creative, exciting,&nbsp;friendly&nbsp;and vibrant working environment&nbsp;</li><li>Personal and professional development&nbsp;</li><li>Dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff&nbsp;</li></ul>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>To provide effective teaching of the highest order for the group(s) of children assigned by the Head teacher&nbsp;</li><li>To oversee the academic, physical, social, cultural,&nbsp;moral&nbsp;and spiritual development of children in the class through pastoral care and guidance&nbsp;</li><li>To administer day-to-day routines,&nbsp;procedures&nbsp;and rules of the school&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>To provide a first point of contact for parents of children in the class and provide a link of communication between school and home&nbsp;</li></ul>Requirements Education &amp; Experience&nbsp;<ul><li>University degree or equivalent, certified by KYSATS, in&nbsp;Pre-Primary (EYFS) Education&nbsp;or&nbsp;equivalent&nbsp;</li><li>At least one year’s experience as a teacher in a&nbsp;Pre-Primary (EYFS) school.&nbsp;</li><li>Relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. PGCE) will be considered as an advantage.&nbsp;</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and measurement of training effects.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of the English language.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures&nbsp;appropriate for&nbsp;the situation when learning or teaching new things.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to&nbsp;monitor/assess performance of students to make improvements or take corrective action.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to use Microsoft office suite applications, management information systems (MIS) and training and education applications &nbsp;</li></ul>
