CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a well-established independent International Classification Society for sea going vessels and other marine structures, we are seeking to recruit a Port State Control Officer to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Port State Control Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring the port state control inspections of the company’s fleet. Our client is seeking applicants who are educated to degree level in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Shipping, or similar, with any prior experience working in a Classification Society considered an advantage. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer based on skills and experience, which includes a 13th salary, and Provident Fund.&nbsp;Key Duties/Responsibilities:&nbsp;<ul><li>Liaising with port state control authorities to ensure that&nbsp;company’s&nbsp;surveyors and/or auditors are called in as appropriate when deficiencies related to class and statutory matters are found.</li><li>Liaising with port state control officers to ensure uniformity of interpretation of class and statutory requirements.</li><li>Providing port state control officer, upon request, with background information, extracts from reports pertinent to the inspection, and details of outstanding conditions of class and statutory items.</li><li>Liaising with the flag state in accordance with prior agreement, and the owner’s representative and/or company, to ensure that both parties are fully aware of actions being taken that affect safety-related matters of either a class or statutory nature.</li><li>Reviewing the port state control inspection regime of&nbsp;company&nbsp;on a daily basis.</li><li>Informing the owner and/or company responsible for a port state control inspection.</li><li>Requesting the submission of port state control inspection reports and/or evidence of rectification through&nbsp;company’s&nbsp;platform.</li><li>Updating the Platform for previously imposed port state control inspections deficiencies.</li><li>Calculating the performance of&nbsp;company&nbsp;on port state control inspections twice per calendar year.</li><li>Instructing the surveyor and/or auditor to attend on board in case of PSC Detention.</li></ul>&nbsp;Key Skills/Experience:&nbsp;<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Shipping, or similar.</li><li>Experience in a Classification Society will be considered as an advantage.</li><li>Fluent in English both verbal and writing.</li><li>Data analysis skills are required.</li><li>Ability to adhere to deadlines.</li><li>Computer literate.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively and work under pressure.</li><li>Organizational skills</li></ul>&nbsp;Key Benefits:&nbsp;<ul><li>Attractive salary based on skills and experience.</li><li>13th salary.</li><li>Provident Fund (after the completion of the probationary period).</li><li>22 days of paid Annual Leave.</li><li>Flexible working hours.</li><li>A complimentary office lunch every Friday for all staff.</li><li>Opportunities for professional growth and development.</li></ul> &nbsp;To apply for this vacancy, please send your CV, along with any covering letter to&nbsp;<a href="mailto:jobs@careerfinders.com.cy">jobs@careerfinders.com.cy</a>&nbsp;quoting the reference number ERG9178.
