Job Description

Iacovou Group, one of the most reputable and established Construction Groups in Cyprus, seeks to recruit experienced and high calibre professionals for the position of Laboratory Technician.

 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is accountable for the testing of construction materials and the execution of all required laboratory tests based on project specifications and quality standards under the guidance and to the instructions of the Laboratory Engineer.

• Executes scheduled tests for each project’s requirements
• Conducts geological surveys on site, in order to assess the suitability and availability of the required construction materials
• Oversees sampling for all materials being tested
• Coordinates and performs lab tests, evaluates test results and reports findings
• Keeps record of all laboratory waste in order to control and manage them appropriately
• Ensures proper handling, usage and calibration of the laboratory testing and electronic equipment
• Studies the Project Specifications and latest testing methods for construction materials, in order to handle any laboratory/material related problems that may arise
• Maintains a proper referenced filing system of tests performed, data and information relevant to the lab tests and geological surveys
• Provides all necessary data during the tendering process
• Perceives all Statutory, Contractual and Company requirements with regards to Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental procedures and abides by the relevant Regulations
• Endorses the policy for QHSSE and ensures any omissions produced are not harmful to employees or the environment 

Requirements:

• Previous experience will be considered an advantage
• Planning and organisation skills
• Analytical and numerical skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer literacy
• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written

Remuneration:

A competitive salary and performance-based incentive scheme will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
