Mitas Group is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Electrical Engineer to lead our maintenance and service operations for power generation equipment, with a strong focus on diesel generators. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise, leadership skills, and commercial awareness to ensure the efficient operation of service activities while supporting business growth.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can manage a team of technicians, schedule and oversee maintenance activities, diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues, and personally attend customer sites when required. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in the field and in the office, capable of providing technical leadership while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Service Operations:
Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities for generators and related electrical systems.
Lead and support service technicians in troubleshooting, repairs, commissioning, and testing of power generation equipment.
Personally attend service calls and site visits when required to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Perform advanced fault-finding on electrical, control, and generator systems.
Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed according to company standards, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to service personnel and junior engineers.
Review service reports and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
Team Leadership:
Manage, coordinate, and motivate a team of technicians and engineers.
Allocate resources effectively to meet customer requirements and service schedules.
Monitor team performance and support training and professional development.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
Customer Relations & Commercial Activities:
Prepare technical and commercial quotations for maintenance contracts, repairs, upgrades, and new equipment.
Conduct site surveys and assess customer requirements to provide suitable technical solutions.
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Identify opportunities for additional services, upgrades, and long-term maintenance agreements.
Business Development:
Actively seek and develop new business opportunities and potential customers.
Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
Support sales activities by providing technical expertise and solution recommendations.
Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for growth within the power generation sector.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field would be considered an advantage BUT proven experience is as powerful.
Minimum 3 years of experience in generator maintenance, power generation systems, or industrial electrical services.
Proven experience leading maintenance or service teams.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with generators, control panels, ATS systems, and electrical distribution equipment.
Experience preparing quotations, cost estimates, and service proposals.
Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and generate new business opportunities.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Valid driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
