Company description
The group: The group operates in shipping industry for over 2 decades and today runs from several offices globally. The wider team consists of very diversified environment with 10 different nationalities across 6 offices.
Role: Bookkeeper
Join daily accounting execution of group of companies operating in the shipping / maritime industry
Key responsibilities
- Working in a small team of accountants (5 people) assisting directly to accounts manager
- Daily tasks may include assisting with routine simple activities such as : invoicing, posting in software, online payments and general bookkeeping.
- Prepare documents and materials for audit
- Monitor payments from clients and payment schedule to suppliers. Credit line utilisations, repayment schedules.
- Assist in preparation of transaction documents and documentation for obtaining bank financing
- Assist in closing the books by helping with reconciliations of general ledger accounts and preparing reports.
- This role assumes that the candidate will grow in the team, gain further responsibility with time
The candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Past experience in a shipping company is a benefit (but not required)
- At least 4 years experience as bookkeeper or similar
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong excel skills
- Fluent in Greek and sufficient level of English
