Our client is a well-established real estate investment and development company with operations across Greece and Cyprus. The company focuses on hospitality and residential projects, managing a diverse portfolio of developments in the region and abroad. On be half of our client we are seeking an accountant to join their finance team.

Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting and bookkeeping duties as required by the parent company
• Record transactions / post journal entries into the GL
• Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records for the company
• Prepare monthly trial balances and assist Finance Manager in preparing management accounts
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable including verifying invoices and ensuring timely payments
• Prepare weekly payment run and ensure suppliers are paid on time and according to budget
• Monitoring cash and preparing weekly cash balances report
• Verify the accuracy and appropriateness of invoices received, ensuring they are issued to the correct entity within the group
• Keep the company’s petty cash, perform timely cash count and cash reconciliation
• Assist in preparation of VAT and other tax returns as required by legislation
• Assist in the statutory audits of the Group
• Assist in tax planning and ensure compliance with tax laws in coordination with tax consultants and auditors
• Assist in the review and provision of Know Your Customer (KYC) documents for external service providers
• Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as required by the Finance Manager or Group CFO
• Report to the Group’s Finance Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Experience in a similar role in accounting department
• Familiarity with accounting software / ERP systems will be considered an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Organized and proactive with strong attention to detail
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Team-oriented with effective good communication skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
