CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, one of Cyprus’ leading Law Firms, with offices across the country, we are seeking to recruit a Compliance Associate to join their growing team based in Limassol. As a Compliance Associate, you will conduct client due diligence and transaction monitoring to identify suspicious activities related to money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions breaches, as well as assist in the development and implementation of an effective compliance framework. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Law, Business, Finance, Economics, or other closely related fields, who possess 3+ years of experience in an AML/Compliance role gained working for a Law Firm, Administrative Service Provider (ASP), Audit Firm, or similar. Excellent knowledge of AML laws, EU Directives, sanctions regulations, and industry best practices is essential, and excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English are a must. An attractive remuneration and benefits package is on offer, which includes a 13th salary, and Provident Fund. Working hours are from 08:00 – 17:30 from Monday to Thursday, and from 08:00 – 14:00 each Friday.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Perform client onboarding procedures, including KYC, CDD and EDD reviews.
• Perform transaction monitoring to identify suspicious activities related to money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions breaches.
• Conduct client risk assessments.
• Assess source of wealth/source of funds.
• Review and approve legal and corporate documentation from an AML perspective, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Conduct investigations and prepare detailed analytical reports, including reports related to potential sanctions violations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of an effective compliance framework.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of AML policies and procedures.
• Provide advice and support to internal personnel on AML/CFT and sanctions-related matters.
• Provide support in the daily operations of the Compliance Department and undertake additional duties as required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable AML legislation and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Skills/Experience: 

• Degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in an AML/Compliance role within an Administrative Service Provider, Law Firm, Audit Firms, or similar.
• Proven ability to review clients, perform transaction monitoring, and assess sanctions compliance risks.
• Excellent knowledge of AML laws, EU Directives, and industry best practices.
• Excellent knowledge of sanctions regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of company law.
• Strong understanding of AML compliance processes and procedures.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills.
• High attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and effective time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek.
