Compliance Consultant

The Role:

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated professional for the position of Compliance Consultant, to be based in our office in Nicosia or Limassol.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Providing assistance and support to clients, under the direction of the Team Leader/Senior/Manager, on the applicability and implementation of Regulatory Regimes applicable to entities operating in the financial services sector (e.g., Investment Firms, Funds and Fund Managers, Payment and Electronic Money Institutions), specifically with the following matters:

o   Reviewing Memos and Checklists of Regulatory Requirements

o   Implementation of relevant statutory updates/changes

o   Providing assistance for ad-hoc regulatory requirements or regular/ ad hoc reporting obligations and timely meeting of their reporting requirements

o   Maintaining and updating internal policies and procedures to be in line with regulatory requirements

o   Monitoring and assessment of the correct and effective implementation of policies

o   Preparation or review of Compliance and AML Compliance reports, Compliance and AML Risk Assessment and monitoring programs

o   Attending meetings with the Company’s clients (where required by Team leader)

o   Anti- money Laundering and Financial Crime compliance queries

·        Staying up to date with regulatory requirements of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (“CYSEC”) and European Securities and Markets Authority (“ESMA”), contributing to the evolvement of the Department Policy templates.

·        Assisting and contributing to other needs of the team (e.g. preparation of newsletters, communicating with other teams for updates, notifying on new legislative updates, preparation of training material).

·        Interdepartmental support and guidance on various regulatory and compliance matters

·        Reporting to the Senior/Manager/Senior Management, depending on the projects assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree in LLB Law or a similar degree in Law

·        2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services sector will be considered an advantage

·        CySEC Basic or Advanced or AML Certificate(s) will be considered an advantage

·        Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Power-point), is a must; in particular, Microsoft Excel (familiarity with v look ups, pivot tables and macros) will be considered an advantage

·        Fluent in both Greek and English languages both in writing and oral communication, is a must

·        Positive attitude with a “can-do” perspective, highly committed personality and willing to learn and evolve in a fast-paced environment

·        Organised, focused and diligent, in executing the tasks assigned by the Team Leaders and Managers

·        Experienced in working under pressure, shifting priorities as tasks come in

·        Professionalism, work ethic, self-motivated and a team player
