La Veranda is looking for a passionate and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is organized, hardworking, and takes pride in preparing high-quality food while maintaining consistent standards throughout every service.

You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure dishes are prepared efficiently, consistently, and according to La Veranda’s recipes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, presentation standards, and portion specifications.
• Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping, portioning, marinating, sauces
• Ensure all dishes are prepared to a consistently high standard.
• Maintain excellent food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
• Keep workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and organized.
• Monitor ingredient levels and communicate shortages to the Chef.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation, storage, and portion control.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.
• Follow instructions from the Head Chef and work effectively as part of a team.
• Assist with receiving and checking deliveries when required.
• Support other kitchen duties as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cook or in a professional kitchen
• Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
