The vessels, including crew and services, are marketed internationally by various tour operators including our inhouse tour operator VIVA Cruises. Our fleet of more than 40 ships is expanding, and we are constantly on the move and looking for new opportunities. To support our Crew HR department in our ambitious plans for the future, we are expanding our team.

Your role

As Crew HR Officer, you are the main point of contact for the crew and vessels assigned to you. You coordinate the employee journey from onboarding to the end of employment and connect crew members with Vessel Operations, Crew Planning, Payroll and HR Operations. Your work ensures reliable administration, clear communication and consistent support across the fleet.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 
Manage the onboarding and employment documentation of nautical and hotel crew assigned to your vessels, ensuring that records are complete, accurate and up to date.

• Serve as the main contact for crew members, vessels and the Operations team, providing clear information and timely follow-up on daily crewing matters.

• Coordinate and administer sick leave, warnings, resignations and terminations in line with company procedures and the appropriate escalation process.

• Prepare and verify payroll inputs, cash advances and crew travel expenses, and coordinate payroll queries with the Payroll team.

• Ensure that crew changes are confirmed by each vessel and correctly recorded in the crew management system.

• Cross-check Allianz invoices and follow up on discrepancies.

•  Support and cross-train the Junior Crewing Officer assigned to you, sharing knowledge and consistent working practices.

• Visit assigned vessels at least three times per year to maintain close contact with crew and onboard management.

• Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to crewing processes and communication.

 Your profile

•    Previous experience in Crew HR is required.
•    A degree in Shipping, Human Resources or a related field is an advantage.
•    Strong organisational and communication skills, with close attention to detail.
•    Ability to remain calm, flexible and solution-focused when urgent crew changes arise.
•    A collaborative working style combined with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
•    Confidence working with HR or crew management systems and handling confidential employee information.
•    Fluent written and spoken English; German is an advantage.
•    Willingness to travel for vessel visits.
•    An unrestricted right to work in Cyprus or the EU.
