The C.S.P. (Cyprus Services Provider) Joint Venture was established in 2006 by six companies (3 Civil contractors and 3 Mechanical / Electrical contractors) in order to combine their expertise in different fields and provide a Full Support Services scope to the British Bases in Cyprus.
The six companies are CYBARCO CONTRACTING LTD, ATLAS PANTOU CO LTD, CHR. GIOVANIS CONSTRUCTION LTD, KYRIAKIDES & PIERIDES OVERSEAS LTD, G & E THERMOSOLAR LTD and TELMEN LTD.
CSP directly, or through secondment either by the founding Companies or through Sub-contracting, has approximately 600 employees working full time for its operations within the British Bases in Cyprus.

Summary
CSP JV (Cyprus Services Provider) an established Joint Venture working within the British Sovereign Bases since 2006, requires a Design Coordinator to work in the British Bases island wide (based in Episkopi).
General Role
· To be the focal point for all the Design matters.
· To review designs, ensuring co-ordination between designers.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Manages the preparation of Designs (internal or external) for the Additional Works.
2. Manages the engagement of external consultants where required, by assisting the Operations Managers and / or Senior Operations Manager in the selection of the most suitable and / or available designer.
3. Reviews and ensure the quality and timely preparation of these designs.
4. Reviews designs, at all Stages (Preliminary Design & Detailed) for compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, Eurocodes, DIO Technical Bulletins/Design Guides/Safety regulations and passes comments back to our Engineers and the designers.
5. Ensures health and safety across all design disciplines, identifying and mitigating potential design risks, according to CDM Regulations.
6. Ensures designs include waste management, environmental issues, traffic management, etc,
7. Ensures that the environmental aspects of design are addressed at an early stage (Preliminary Design). Promotes sustainability targets in the design process, in co-ordination with the DIO Environmental Manager and the OPC Environmental Manager.
8. Prepares a Register of the issues identified and hold regular sessions with our Engineers/designers.
9. Monitors and oversees the timely submissions of design stage reports and drawings in accordance with the agreed timescales and planning entered on the Maximo Database.
10. Ensures that delays that cannot be avoided are captured and provided to the Additional Works Manager (Mitie) for communication to DIO and that the planning delivery dates are revised accordingly.
11. Attends design presentations by designers on a number of high-value/high profile works and ensures that comments/issues raised by DIO/Mitie are addressed.
12. Ensures that the “Controlled” Works designs are forwarded for UK Building Regulations approval / Fire Officer approval.
13. Provides technical assistance/support as required to other OPC staff supporting works activities, and any other duties within the discipline and competence, as required by the Senior Operations Manager / Operations Managers.
Candidate Profile
At least 10 years’ experience in Civil/Structural Engineering and associated experience in design.
Knowledge of, or familiarity with, Eurocodes and National Annexes and the use of British Standards,
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, Construction Codes of Practice, CDM regulations.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Produce concise information and documentation with attention to detail.
Excellent command of English language.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work within a QA controlled system environment.
IT literate on all MS Office programs.
Qualifications
Essential:
• University Degree in Civil Engineering / Architecture or equivalent
Desirable:
• Chartered Civil Engineer or Architect
