CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an adult (18+) creator-economy company, with newly established operations here in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit a Founding AI Engineer (Conversational AI) on a fully remote basis. As a Founding AI Engineer (Conversational AI), you will build an AI-powered conversational system for 18+ creator brands. The system will manage personalised conversations, maintain long-term memory, and optimise sales performance. You will lead development from the ground up, and help build the future engineering team. Our client is seeking applicants who hold 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 1+ year delivering LLM features in production, with knowledge of building multi-turn conversational agents with long-term memory, tool calling, and session management. An attractive remuneration package is on offer based on skills and experience, along with fully remote working options, and flexible working hours.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Build conversational AI systems with consistent personas, long-term memory, and sales strategies.
Develop evaluation systems to measure AI performance against top human sellers and actual revenue.
Ensure production reliability, low latency, and cost efficiency.
Monitor, deploy, and maintain the system in production.
Hire and lead future engineers as the team grows.
Key Skills/Experience:
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 1+ year delivering LLM features in production.
Experience building multi-turn conversational agents with long-term memory, tool calling, and session management.
Experience designing LLM evaluations, conversation testing, and A/B experiments.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript or Python and PostgreSQL.
Proven experience owning production systems, including deployment, monitoring, and incident management.
Based in Cyprus or able to work remotely with at least four hours of overlap with European working hours.
Nice to Have:
Experience building AI companion, character-based, or sales chat products.
Experience deploying and fine-tuning open-weight language models.
Founding-stage experience, including hiring and leading engineers.
