The American University of Cyprus is receiving applications for the position of Junior Accountant.

Contract Type: Full-Time

Location: American University of Cyprus, Larnaka

 

Responsibilities

·         Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate accounting records

·         Record financial transactions, including journal entries and ledger postings

·         Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations

·         Assist in bank reconciliations

·         Support month-end and year-end closing procedures

·         Assist in the preparation of financial statements

·         Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems

·         Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports

·         Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

·         Up to 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience

·         Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

.         Fluency in Greek and English both written and spoken.

·         Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

·         Good verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English

·         Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·         Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

·         Willingness to learn and develop professionally

·         Knowledge of SAP Business One (SAP B1) will be considered an additional advantage
