Job Description:
The successful accountant applicant will be working from 08:00–13:00 with flexibility for working up to 2 days from home, once training and knowledge of the business activities of the company is established.
Key Responsibilities:
• Bookkeeping and recording of all transactions in the accounting software
• Maintain a complete set of books, prepare journals and post entries, keep records of accounts, and verify procedures used for recording financial transactions
• Reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors, review trial balances and underlying balance sheet accounts as part of the month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare and submit VAT/VIES returns to Cyprus authorities
• Support the audit process, preparing relevant documentation, liaising with external auditors, and completion of annual statutory audit
• Communication with clients in relation to accounting issues
• Communication with colleagues for providing updated balances for debtors and creditors
Requirements
• 3+ years’ experience as an Accountant
• Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills and attention to detail
• Academic background in accounting and professional qualification will be considered as an advantage
• Ability to work both independently as well as in a team
• Good knowledge of any accounting software (Sage) will be considered as an advantage
• Computer literate and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
• Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written)
• Good knowledge of preparation and submission of VAT and VIES to be considered an advantage.
• Half day working hours and opportunity to work from home up to 2 days
