We are seeking an experienced and organised HR Manager to establish and lead the Human Resources function of Digipro Education Limited and FUNecole® Education Limited. This is the first dedicated HR position in the company, so the successful candidate will build the HR function from the ground up: setting up policies, processes, documentation and systems, and then running them day to day. It is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating structure and wants to shape the people side of a growing educational organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Setting Up the HR Function
● Review current HR practices and documents, and design the company's HR structure from scratch.
● Create and roll out HR policies and procedures, including an Employee Handbook. It should cover working hours, leave, remote work, code of conduct, and disciplinary and grievance procedures.
● Set up and maintain complete personnel files and a digital HR records system.
● Create standard HR templates: employment contracts, offer letters, job descriptions, confirmation letters and termination letters.
● Define the organisation chart, roles and reporting lines together with the CEO and COO.
Recruitment & Onboarding
● Manage the full recruitment cycle: workforce planning, job descriptions, job ads (LinkedIn, Ergodotisi, job portals), screening, interviews and offers.
● Design and run a structured onboarding programme so new employees become productive quickly.
● Coordinate the recruitment of instructors and external collaborators for seminars and educational projects.
● Manage offboarding, including exit interviews and handovers.
Employment Law, Compliance & Administration
● Ensure the company follows Cyprus labour law. This includes employment contracts, working time, annual leave, termination of employment, equal treatment, and health & safety.
● Handle Social Insurance registrations and employee changes, and deal with the Department of Labour, Social Insurance Services and other authorities.
● Ensure all employee data is handled in line with GDPR.
● Prepare the company for upcoming requirements such as the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
● Send payroll information to the accountants: salaries, leave, overtime, bonuses and benefits.
Performance, Training & Development
● Design and run a performance management system with goals, KPIs and appraisals, linked to the bi-annual performance bonus.
● Identify training needs and organise staff training, using HRDA (ΑνΑΔ) subsidised programmes where possible.
● Help managers give feedback, deal with performance issues and develop their teams.
Compensation, Culture & Employee Relations
● Develop a clear salary, benefits and job grading structure together with management.
● Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns, and handle employee relations issues fairly and confidentially.
● Build a positive, engaged company culture through internal communication, team activities and recognition.
● Track HR metrics (headcount, turnover, absence, time to hire) and report regularly to the CEO.
Requirements
● At least 4 years of HR experience, including time in an HR generalist or HR manager role.
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
● Very good knowledge of Cyprus employment law, Social Insurance and GDPR requirements.
● Experience in recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
● Excellent command of Greek and English, written and spoken.
● Very good IT skills (MS Office / Google Workspace).
● Highly organised, discreet and trustworthy, with excellent interpersonal skills.
● Able to work independently, take initiative and build something from scratch.
Nice to have
● Proven experience setting up or restructuring HR processes and policies.
● Knowledge of HRDA (ΑνΑΔ) schemes.
● A CIPD qualification or a Master's degree in HR.
● Experience with HR software.
