HR Officer

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) is a leading research university ranked in the Top 501-600 in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

UNIC Health, supporting the strategic growth of its Medical and Veterinary Schools, seeks a full-time HR Officer based in Nicosia to join its HR Team.

Main Responsibilities:

· Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, including the preparation of offer letters, background checks, and employee orientations.

·   Oversee the collection and verification of data to prepare Engagement and Services Agreements, acting as the primary liaison for relevant stakeholders.

·  Draft employment contracts and service agreements in strict accordance with Cyprus Labour Law and university regulations.

·  Maintain and update staff records within the OASYS and ERGANI (Social Insurance) platforms to ensure data integrity.

·  Address staff inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures while managing attendance and leave administration.

·  Assist in the administration of performance reviews and generate data-driven reports to support departmental initiatives.

·  Coordinate closely with the Finance Office to facilitate the timely and accurate payment of service providers.

·  Provide high-level administrative support for HR projects and perform other duties as directed by senior management.

Requirements:

·  Proven work experience in the HR field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

·  Bachelor’s Degree – Postgraduate studies will be an advantage.

·  Excellent command of the English and Greek language, both verbal and written.

·  Strong IT skills, especially in MS Office and HR systems.

·  Comprehensive knowledge of Cyprus Employment Law.

·  Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.

·  Attention to detail and accuracy.

·  Solid organizational and time management skills.

·   Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate should be eligible to work in the European Union/ European Economic Area.
