JOB POSITION SUMMARY: The ICT Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting IT systems and infrastructure for both internal teams and external clients. The IT Engineer provides technical expertise in installing, troubleshooting, and optimizing IT systems. This role involves working with clients to understand their IT needs, solving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT-related services and systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure of the systems and solutions that the company offers.
Implement security measures and protocols to safeguard systems and data against threats, ensuring compliance with industry best practices. - Provide remote and on-site technical support to clients, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues
- Respond promptly to service requests, ensuring minimal downtime for clients and maximum customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot and resolve standard IT issues, escalating to senior engineers or specialists when necessary.
- Work closely with clients to assess their IT needs and provide tailored recommendations for technology solutions.
- Provide clear communication and updates to clients regarding their IT issues, solutions, and status
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security checks to ensure the integrity and performance of client systems.
- Ensure systems are functioning correctly and perform periodic checks
- Stay current with the latest technology trends, industry best practices, and IT certifications to continuously improve your skills.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical expertise and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all support, maintenance carried out
- Is expected to adhere all company policies, procedures and compliance regulations relevant to your role. This includes, but is not limited to, safety protocols, data protections standards, ethical business practices and any applicable legal or regulatory requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years’ previous experience in an IT support role would be considered an advantage
- Skills:
- Good understanding of hardware, software, and networking principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to assist technical users.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to project goals.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise under the guidance of senior engineers.
- A proactive approach to managing tasks and support requests.
Work Environment: This position is based in the office, with occasional travel requirements. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring flexibility and adaptability
