Position overview
We are seeking a Junior IT Support Engineer to join our team and provide remote and on-site technical support. Working alongside our senior engineers, you will troubleshoot issues, assist with installations and maintenance, and support clients in the day-to-day use of their systems. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
Key responsibilities
Respond to support requests by phone, email and ticketing system, and keep clients informed of progress.
Troubleshoot computer hardware, software and basic network issues, escalating complex cases to senior engineers or relevant vendors.
Provide remote assistance and attend client sites for installation, troubleshooting and maintenance work.
Assist with software updates, security patches, system upgrades and migrations under the guidance of senior engineers.
Record support activities and solutions, and maintain clear technical documentation and troubleshooting guides.
Communicate clearly with non-technical users and provide basic guidance on the use of installed systems.
Work with colleagues to resolve issues efficiently and minimise disruption to client operations.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems and networking, with an interest in troubleshooting.
Willingness to learn new technologies and develop practical technical skills.
Good communication and customer service skills, with a professional and courteous approach.
Ability to work as part of a team, follow procedures and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
Good organisational skills, attention to detail and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
Familiarity with remote support tools or ticketing systems is an advantage. Previous professional experience is not essential for candidates with a suitable technical foundation and a willingness to learn.
