Operate, maintain, and expand NetShop's network across our data centres, covering routing, switching, firewalls, and customer connectivity, following the architecture and standards set by the Network Team Lead.
Run day-to-day network operations: monitor traffic and device health, resolve incidents, and identify recurring issues early.
Configure and maintain BGP sessions, transit, peering, and cross-connects. Handle customer onboarding for dedicated, colocation, and cloud services.
Implement and maintain firewall rules, ACLs, DDoS mitigation, and access controls. Take part in vulnerability reviews.
Work with systems, support, and sales teams on customer network requirements, including latency-sensitive trading workloads, with designs reviewed by the Network Team Lead.
Maintain accurate network records: configurations, topology diagrams, IP allocations, and runbooks.
Propose improvements, automation, and new tooling to the Network Team Lead.
Provide cover for the Network Team Lead during absences, acting as the escalation point for network incidents during that time; participate in the on-call rotation.
Support audits and compliance (including ISO 27001) through change control and configuration reviews against policy.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of proven experience in network engineering, with hands-on expertise in configuring and managing network devices.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and firewall configurations.
Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Ability to analyze logs and metrics for proactive issue resolution.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented and analytical mindset. Ability to diagnose complex network issues and implement long-term solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical teams.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Capable of handling multiple projects and prioritizing tasks effectively.
Additional/Optional Skills:
Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Certifications in cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc) or cybersecurity (CISSP, CEH) will be considered a strong plus.
Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking, and automation tools will be considered a strong plus.
