Quantity Surveyor

Scope and general purpose of the job:

Working with contractors, builders, architects and other professionals to provide the most cost-effective plans that meet high-quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze costing for tenders
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
• Value completed work and arrange payments to contractor/subcontractors
• Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
• Advise on a procurement strategy
• Perform risk, value management and cost control
• Monitor and control costs throughout the project
• Identify risks surrounding the project and the likelihood of cost variation
• Track any changes to the design or actual work and adjust budget projections
• Reconciliation of accounts and cost control

 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
• At least 5 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction         experience or related field
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Sound knowledge of construction
• Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
• Ability to organize, plan and strategize
