Role in Brief
We are looking for a skilled Web Developer to work on the design, development and continuous improvement of client-facing systems within the fast-moving alternative investment industry.
You will be part of an international, collaborative environment where technology plays an important role in delivering a high-quality experience to our clients.
Insights to the Role
- Develop and maintain high-quality front-end web applications, with a strong focus on user experience.
- Build reliable and maintainable software using modern development practices.
- Contribute to our continuous integration and weekly release cycle.
- Work within a test-driven development environment.
- Refactor and enhance existing code to improve security, performance, maintainability and resilience.
- Accurately assess and estimate development requirements and timelines.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and the overall user experience.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts and business users in an international environment.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies, development practices and design trends.
Who You Are
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
- Strong experience with JavaScript and modern web development practices.
- Good working knowledge of Java.
- A basic understanding of HTML, CSS and LESS.
- Experience with Angular would be highly desirable.
- Experience with Apache Tapestry, or an interest and ability to quickly become proficient in the framework.
- A degree in Computer Science or another relevant scientific discipline with programming experience, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The ability to work effectively as part of an international and collaborative team.
