The Role:On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated professional for the position of Compliance &amp; AML Officer, to be based in their office in Nicosia.&nbsp;Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., MiFID II, CySEC, ESMA, AMLD).</li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain AML and compliance policies, procedures, and controls.</li><li>Conduct ongoing monitoring of client accounts, transactions, and activities to identify suspicious behavior.</li><li>Carry out due diligence (CDD, EDD, KYC) for onboarding and ongoing monitoring of clients.</li><li>Prepare and submit regulatory reports (e.g., STRs/SARs) to the relevant authorities.</li><li>Keep up to date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices.</li><li>Provide advice and support to management and staff on compliance and AML-related matters.</li><li>Perform compliance monitoring reviews and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.</li><li>Liaise with regulators and external auditors as required.</li><li>Deliver training sessions to staff on compliance, AML, and ethical conduct.</li><li>Identify any potential conflict of interest situations, and attempt to resolve it in a timely and efficient manner</li><li>Keep records of any conflict of interest situations occurring in the Company</li><li>Assist the board of directors by evaluating and reporting to them the effectiveness of the controls for which they are responsible.</li><li>Perform periodically reviews on the procedures followed by the employees to ensure compliance with Legislation and Internal Procedures Manual</li><li>Review and where necessary update the Internal Procedures Manual</li><li>Review clients’ files to ensure that the account opening procedure is properly implemented and that adequate records are kept by the Company, as requested by Legislation;</li><li>Review the clients’ accounts with special consideration to the recording process of deposits/withdrawals and clients’ transactions;</li><li>Update the staff and management of the Company regarding new legislation;</li><li>Ensure that information requested from CySEC through Circulars and/or direct communication with the Company is accurate and is provided within the set frame time</li><li>Ensure that CySEC is notified promptly and in accurate manner for any material changes that might occur in the Company</li><li>Submit the annual report to Board of Directors over the activities of the Department, with special consideration to appropriate remedial measures that have been taken over the year in the event of any deficiencies and any other ad-hoc reports that might be requested from the Board of Directors.</li><li>Ensure timely and accurate submission of EMIR, MiFIR, and other regulatory transaction reporting obligations.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Risk and Back Office teams to ensure alignment between compliance controls and operational processes.</li><li>Proven track record of delivering internal compliance audits and presenting findings to the Board or senior management.</li><li>Experience dealing with regulatory inquiries, inspections, and settlement procedures with CySEC.</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;Qualifications and Requirements:<ul><li>&nbsp;Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).</li><li>Minimum [3+] years of experience in compliance and AML within the financial services sector.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of AML laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., EU AMLD, CySEC AML Directive).</li><li>Holder of CYSEC’s Advanced Certificate and AML Certificate</li><li>Strong understanding of financial markets, investment services, and MiFID II requirements or equivalent professional qualification (preferred).</li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence.</li><li> High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.</li><li>Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages considered an advantage.</li></ul>&nbsp;To apply for this vacancy, please send your CV to <a href="mailto:hr@fincap.com">hr@fincap.com</a>.&nbsp;All applicants will be treated with strict confidentiality.
