The Role:On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a passionate and self-motivated professional for the position of Risk Manager, to be based in their office in Nicosia.&nbsp;Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Develop and maintain the company’s risk management framework, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Identify, assess, and monitor key financial, operational, and compliance risks.</li><li>Monitor client exposures &amp; margin adequacy.</li><li>Review risk limit, capital adequacy and liquidity breaches and escalate where needed.</li><li>Communicate with prime brokers / liquidity providers on collateral &amp; margin.</li><li>Monitor and adhere to the risk appetite framework approved by the board.</li><li>Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing to evaluate exposures.</li><li>Identify all material risks such as Market risk, Counterparty risk , Liquidity risk, Operational risk etc.</li><li>Provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies and controls.</li><li>Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., MiFID II, ESMA, CySEC, IFR/IFD, Basel guidelines).</li><li>Prepare and present regular risk reports to senior management and the Board of Directors.</li><li>Collaborate with Compliance, Finance, Operations, and IT to strengthen internal controls.</li><li>Lead risk awareness training and promote a risk-conscious culture across the organization.</li><li>Act as the main point of contact for risk-related audits and regulatory inspections.</li><li>Maintain the firm’s Risk Register, documenting incidents, breaches, root cause analyses, and remediation timelines.</li><li>Contribute to the Internal Operations Manual, ensuring risk management policies and escalation protocols are documented and kept up to date.</li><li>Risk reporting obligations shall include the Annual Risk Management Report, the IFR quarterly reporting, the ICARA Report, Pillar 3 Disclosures report, Risk-based Supervision Framework and other reports as required by the regulator.</li><li>Promote a risk-aware culture within the organization through training and policy development</li></ul>&nbsp;Qualifications and Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field . Master’s degree will be considered an advantage.</li><li>&nbsp;Professional certifications related to Risk Management (e. FRM, PRM, CRO) are considered an advantage.</li><li>Minimum [3+] years of relevant experience in risk management, preferably within financial services and preferably in derivatives / leveraged instruments / CFDs.</li><li>In-depth understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools.</li><li>Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, ESMA, EBA, CySEC).</li><li>Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.</li><li>Good character and integrity.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.</li><li>Deep understanding of CFD products, underlying markets, leverage, volatility, margin behavior, counterparty risk, liquidity risk, operational risk.</li></ul>&nbsp;To apply for this vacancy, please send your CV to <a href="mailto:rs@fincap.com">hr@fincap.com</a>.&nbsp;All applicants will be treated with strict confidentiality.
