IT Systems Engineer&nbsp;The CompanyFrederick University is seeking to hire an IT Systems Engineer in Nicosia for full time employment.&nbsp;ResponsibilitiesAn excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated IT professional to join part of the dynamic team of IT specialists to set-up and manage the University’s IT systems, to support educational, administrative, and research operations. The successful candidate will report directly to the University’s Director of Operations &amp; Infrastructure Service.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Set up and manage public-facing Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Administer Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory, Azure, Exchange, and utilize PowerShell for automation tasks.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Oversee the administration of Moodle and Joomla platforms, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues promptly.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Develop and implement Linux scripts to automate routine tasks and enhance system efficiency.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Demonstrate hands-on experience in networking, including switching and routing using managed switches.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Manage virtualization environments, with a focus on Proxmox, to ensure the stability and scalability of our infrastructure.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Implement and maintain robust security measures across all relevant systems and platforms.Profile of the Ideal Candidate•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Relevant certifications (i.e. MCSE, RHCE, VCP) will be considered an advantage.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; At least 3 years of solid experience in an IT Systems Engineer / System Administrator role, with similar responsibilities.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proven experience in setting up and managing public-facing Linux servers.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proven experience with networking, including switching and routing using managed switches.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Background in virtualization, primarily with Proxmox technologies.
