Role Summary The System Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability and performance of web applications and supporting infrastructure. The role focuses on monitoring system health, resolving production issues escalated from L1 support, applying configuration changes, and collaborating with DevOps and engineering teams to improve operational stability, observability, and reliability.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Monitor and manage the health of web applications and infrastructure, including application servers, databases and integrated tools.</li><li>Handle production incidents escalated from L1 support and contribute to the resolution of medium to high-severity issues.</li><li>Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues using logs, metrics and system diagnostics.</li><li>Design, maintain and improve monitoring, alerting and observability capabilities (metrics, logs, traces) in collaboration with DevOps teams.</li><li>Apply and validate configuration changes across:Application servers, Databases, CRM and enterprise applications</li><li>Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or significant incidents and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions.</li><li>Support automation initiatives and self-healing solutions to reduce manual operational effort.</li><li>Collaborate with development, infrastructure and security teams during incident resolution and production changes.</li><li>Support production releases, patches, upgrades and infrastructure changes following change management processes.</li><li>Participate in on-call rotations and follow established incident response procedures.</li><li>Maintain and update operational documentation.</li><li>Backup systems knowledge (not necessarily designing them).</li><li>Working occasionally outside hours for maintenance.</li></ul> Skills &amp; Experience<ul><li>BSc/MSc in Computer Science, or a similar</li><li>2+ years of relevant experience</li><li>Experience supporting web applications in production environments.</li><li>Working knowledge of servers, databases and application architectures.</li><li>Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting and observability tools.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.</li><li>Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC concepts.</li><li>Exposure to automation and scripting.</li><li>Experience with cloud platforms and modern monitoring stacks is a plus.</li><li>Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.</li><li>Please note that Work from the office is compulsory.</li></ul>To apply for this vacancy, please send your CV, along with any cover letter to <a href="mailto:hr@omakaservices.com">hr@omakaservices.com</a> quoting the above job title.Please note that due to the high volumes of applications being received only shortlisted applicants will be responded to.
