Job Description

The Saur - Iacovou Joint Venture, seeks to recruit an experienced and high caliber professional for the position of Technician Operator for the Waste Water Treatment Plants in Paphos.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Monitoring

• Perform day-to-day operation of all Project Facilities, including treatment units, pumps, blowers, and associated systems.
• Monitor, adjust, and control plant processes to ensure optimal performance and compliance with operational standards.
• Diagnose operating problems and take necessary corrective actions promptly.
• Manage operational breakdowns, reporting issues to the Supervisor and assisting in troubleshooting.
• Operate and maintain facilities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

2. Maintenance & Technical Support

• Assist with maintaining instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical components in good working order.
• Support the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
• Perform calibration tests on instruments and equipment in accordance with calibration schedules.
• Operate, repair, and maintain wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) facilities as required.

3. Housekeeping & Site Upkeep

• Maintain all Project Facilities in a clean, tidy, and safe condition through regular housekeeping.
• Perform cleaning of equipment, tanks, buildings, and plant areas as needed.
• Carry out gardening, landscaping, and grounds-maintenance duties to ensure a clean and presentable site environment.

4. Materials Handling & Logistics

• Manage material deliveries and receipts, including scheduling, unloading, and loading activities.
• Assist the Supervisor in maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring proper storage of materials and chemicals.

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Follow and proactively implement all operational procedures as part of the Quality Assurance System.
• Maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.

6. Communication & Coordination

• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with maintenance contractors, colleagues, and all personnel encountered during work activities.
• Communicate equipment status, system performance, and operational issues to the Supervisor promptly.

7. Reporting

• Prepare and complete required reports, logs, checklists, and documentation related to plant operations, maintenance, and performance.
• Report on operational efficiency and any deviations from normal conditions.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an industrial plant environment.
• May involve shifts, weekends, or emergency on-call.
• Requires use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
• Working time between 06:00 to 18:00 based on company needs with weekly working hours 40 (hours without over-time).
