Job Description

Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol, the operator of the container terminal at the Port of Limassol, is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer.

Position Purpose

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of terminal equipment through effective maintenance planning, technical expertise, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also manage the team of mechanics, providing technical guidance, coordinating daily maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and fostering a high-performance, collaborative work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze the reports received from the Mechanical Supervisors and subcontractors and identify specific equipment maintenance needs
• Organize maintenance works in terms of human resource needs, tools and spare parts
• Analyze, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial hydraulic systems
• Conduct research programs, analysis and technical studies to improve the terminal’s equipment and operations
• Prepare cost analysis reports according to maintenance, trouble-shoot and spare parts used
• Evaluate needs and prepare specifications for purchase of materials and spare parts
• Oversee projects and perform inspections to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of heavy equipment to ensure maximum reliability, availability, and operational efficiency
• Supervise and organize the training of new team members
• Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the relevant ISO and local legislation
• Communicate and establish relations with subcontractors to implement projects and training
• Monitor team performance, optimize resource utilization, and contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and operational efficiency
• Ensure that all team members comply to the Health and Safety regulations of the company

Required Qualifications

·         University degree in Mechanical Engineer

·         Experience in Mechanical Engineering

·         Member of ETEK (Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber)

·         Very good communication and interpersonal skills

·         Very good organizational skills

·         Financial and interdisciplinary thinking

·         Computer literate specifically with MS Office, Autocad, Maintenance

·         Very good command of the English Language
