Job Description

The pharmaceutical company P.T. Hadjigeorgiou Co Ltd, based in Limassol, is looking to employee an Accountant to support its Accounting & Finance Department by managing daily accounting tasks.

The successful applicant will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency of the company’s finances. The ideal candidate will be well -versed in accounting principles, have great attention to detail and be able to work comfortably and efficiently with staff members. The goal is to contribute to the overall coherent operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions and recorded.

• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.

• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.

• Registration and processing of journal documents and accounting records.

• Control of creditors and debtors. Responsibility for the flow of collections from debtors.

• Preparation of VAT, VIES and INTRASTAT forms.

• Compile monthly social security forms, PAYE and other relevant statements.

• Cooperation with external auditors for the preparation of financial statements

• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly /yearly closings.

• Assist in other accounting /secretarial tasks (i.e. letter preparation, bookkeeping).

• Preparing monthly reconciliations of the bank accounts

• Documentation and preparation of monthly payments to suppliers

Requirements

• BSc/Ba in accounting not required but will be considered as an advantage

• Qualification requirements LCCL – Higher Level CAT

• Great with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen

• Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Excellent knowledge of the English language (verbal and written skills)

• Excellent knowledge of the Greek language (verbal and written skills)

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)

• Great attention to detail

• Strong teamwork and good communication skills

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a multi-tasking environment

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
