ACCOUNTANT
Job Description
We are looking for an Experienced Accountant / Vessel Accountant to join our team in Limassol.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting and financial administration of two companies within our Group:
• Ship Management Company
• Marine Spare Parts Trading & Chartering Company
Key Responsibilities
• Handle the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping of both companies.
• Maintain accurate and separate accounting records for each company.
• Process purchase and sales invoices, supplier payments, customer receipts and credit notes.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Perform bank, Balance Sheet, intercompany and petty cash reconciliations.
• Handle vessel-related expenses, including crew wages, port expenses, bunkers, spare parts, supplies, repairs and other operating expenses.
• Prepare and monitor vessel OPEX and budgets.
• Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, management accounts and budget vs. actual reports.
• Monitor cash flow and upcoming payment requirements.
• Handle accounting related to marine spare parts trading, purchasing and chartering activities.
• Ensure correct allocation of costs and revenues to the relevant vessel, customer, supplier or project.
• Assist with VAT, tax and other statutory requirements.
• Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, suppliers and customers when required.
• Work closely with the Management, Operations, Technical, Purchasing, Chartering and Crewing Departments.
Requirements
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Previous experience in an accounting position.
• Shipping / maritime accounting experience will be considered a strong advantage.
• Good knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet, AP/AR, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good command of English.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the accounting function.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
This position is intended for an experienced accountant capable of independently handling the accounting responsibilities of both companies, rather than a bookkeeping-level position.
