Job Description
CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an established Group of Companies with diverse business interests, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing Finance Department based in Nicosia. As an Accountant, you will handle a range of duties, including assisting with month-end management accounting, preparing and executing payments, and performing a range of bookkeeping tasks to support the finance team. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in a relevant field of study, and those working towards any professional accounting qualification are encouraged to apply. You will need to possess 2+ years of prior experience in a relevant accounting role, with strong analytical skills, as well as fluency in both verbal and written English. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with the month-end management accounting process.
- Prepare and execute payments in coordination with the business.
- Perform accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, bank/debtor/creditor reconciliations, and interest calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for Cyprus and UK legal entities.
- Support the preparation of cash flow projections.
- Assist the Finance team with ad-hoc finance related projects.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field or being a holder of a higher Diploma in Accounting.
- Studying towards ACCA/ACA will be considered an advantage.
- At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting role, previous experience in a Finance Department will be considered an advantage.
- A team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and reconcile discrepancies.
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong Excel skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Navision will be considered an advantage.
