Job Description

The Accounting Assistant provides administrative support to the Accounting Department, performing tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing communications with clients and vendors. Responsibilities include recording daily financial transactions, issuing invoices and receipts, assisting with bank deposits, and supporting the annual audit process.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and financial support to the Accounting Department
  • Manage routine office tasks, including filing, data entry, phone coverage, and email processing, to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and suppliers via phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Process financial transactions, issue invoices and receipts, and update accounting ledgers in a timely manner
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual audits
  • Accurately record daily financial transactions and ensure proper posting into the system
  • Reconcile bank accounts, as well as accounts receivable and payable, to maintain up-to-date records
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy and completeness of ledgers, supporting reliable financial reporting

Requirements & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Greek
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Strong typing and data entry skills
  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Professional manners and strong ethical standards
  • Ability to multitask while remaining motivated and positive
  • Organized, team-oriented, and eager for continuous learning
  • Strong commitment to working efficiently and accurately

Nice-to-Have

  • Diploma in Accounting or related field
  • Additional education, experience, or certifications
  • Knowledge of Sage software
