Our Real-Time Accounting service moves accounting beyond compliance and historical reporting. By combining accounting expertise with Xero, integrations, automation and advanced reporting, we help management teams monitor cash flow, payables, profitability and operational KPIs using timely, reliable information.

As the service continues to grow, we are looking for a qualified accountant to lead and develop our Real-Time Accounting department.

The role

The Real-Time Accounting Manager will assume responsibility for an existing portfolio of clients while building the processes, technology and team needed to support the department’s continued expansion.

This is not a conventional accounting-manager position. The successful candidate will be expected to combine strong accounting knowledge with commercial awareness, client leadership and a genuine interest in technology.

You will work closely with business owners, finance teams and senior management to understand how information is processed, identify opportunities for improvement and design accounting workflows that deliver accurate and useful information efficiently.

The position is ideal for a qualified accountant who wants to move beyond traditional accounting work and take ownership of a distinctive, technology-enabled service with significant growth potential.

Key responsibilities

Client portfolio management

• Manage the department’s existing portfolio and oversee the delivery of Real-Time Accounting services.
• Ensure that accounting information, management reports and client deliverables are accurate, complete and produced on time.
• Review accounting records, reconciliations, reporting outputs and financial-control procedures.
• Handle communication with clients and auditors.
• Maintain consistent service standards as the client base expands.
• Identify risks, control weaknesses and areas requiring management attention.

Client communication and advisory

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
• Build trusted relationships with business owners, finance teams and senior management.
• Understand each client’s business model, operations, reporting requirements and decision-making needs.
• Explain financial results and operational trends clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Help clients move from delayed, historical reporting towards more timely and data-led decision-making.
• Translate business requirements into practical accounting, reporting and technology solutions.

Process and data-flow design

• Assess how financial and operational information is captured, processed, reviewed and reported.
• Design efficient data-processing flows from source documents and operational systems through to accounting records and management dashboards.
• Document accounting procedures, approval workflows, responsibilities and control points.
• Improve processes relating to invoicing, payables, receivables, bank reconciliation, expense processing and management reporting.
• Reduce duplicated effort, manual data entry and reliance on disconnected spreadsheets.
• Establish scalable procedures that can be applied consistently across a growing client portfolio.

Technology and automation

• Use available technology to automate repetitive accounting and reporting activities.
• Evaluate new technology and determine how it can improve accuracy, efficiency and visibility.
• Collaborate with Prodyssey’s business-transformation and technology teams to design and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure that automation strengthens accounting controls and data quality.

Department leadership and growth

• Take ownership of the development and performance of the Real-Time Accounting department.
• Help define the department’s operating model, procedures, quality standards and performance measures.
• Work closely with Prodyssey’s leadership team on the department’s growth strategy.

What we are looking for

• A qualified accountant with an ACA, ACCA or equivalent recognised professional qualification.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and a solid understanding of financial controls.
• Experience managing accounting processes, reporting deadlines and client or stakeholder relationships.
• The ability to review financial information critically and identify inaccuracies, risks and control gaps.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with business owners and senior management.
• A process-oriented mindset and the ability to design clear, efficient workflows.
• A genuine interest in accounting technology, automation and data.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence learning new systems.
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several priorities simultaneously.
• A proactive, open-minded and commercially aware approach.
• The confidence to lead a growing function while remaining involved in its day-to-day delivery.

Experience in a fast-paced accounting environment, such as a professional-services firm, outsourced finance function, shared-service environment or rapidly growing finance team, will be considered a strong advantage.

Experience with Xero, cloud-accounting platforms, systems implementation, process automation or business-intelligence tools will also be advantageous.
