CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an international developer of sophisticated software solutions with regional operations in Cyprus, we are seeking to recruit an AI Researcher (Radio Signal Processing & Recognition) to join their research team in the field of intelligent radio signal processing and recognition based in Limassol. The successful applicant will develop and research state-of-the-art machine learning methods to automatically capture, classify, and interpret radio and high-frequency (RF) signals. Our client is seeking applicants who are ideally educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, who possess in-depth knowledge of machine learning and deep learning, demonstrated through projects, publications, or practical experience. You will need to have excellent programming skills in Python and proficiency with a common deep learning framework, such as PyTorch. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must. Key Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Development, training, and evaluation of deep learning models (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers) for the detection, classi-fication, and characterization of radio signals, including modulation and emitter detection.
• Processing and analysis of IQ data, spectrograms, and other RF representations using classical digital signal processing (DSP) and data-driven methods.
• Research into signal detection methods in noisy, overlapping, or resource-constrained environments (e.g., low SNR, broad-band spectrum sensing).
• Building, curating, and augmenting training datasets, including the generation of synthetic signal data and domain adaptation techniques.
• Prototyping and validating algorithms using software-defined radio (SDR) platforms and corresponding frameworks.
• Close collaboration with colleagues in signal processing, software development, and systems engineering to translate re-search findings into practical solutions.
• Documentation of results in internal technical reports.
• Monitoring current research trends and evaluating their relevance to one’s own areas of work.

Key Skills/Experience: 

• MSc or PhD in one of the following fields, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning and deep learning, demonstrated through projects, publications, or practical experience.
• Solid understanding of digital signal processing (Fourier analysis, filtering, sampling, modulation techniques).
• Excellent programming skills in Python and proficiency with a common deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch).
• Experience working with large, noisy, or unstructured datasets.
• Analytical thinking, scientific rigor, and the ability to independently address research questions.
• Fluency in English is required.
