About the role

Columbia Shipmanagement is looking for an experienced BI Solutions Analyst to join our team and support business performance monitoring, decision-making as well as continuous improvement across different functions.

The role combines business analysis, process understanding, stakeholder engagement and BI solution design. Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, you will identify improvement opportunities, gather and document requirements, translate business needs into data solutions and help drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

This is a full-time position based in Limassol, ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, extensive experience with Power BI, and a passion for transforming data into meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting Business Requirement Definition: Engaging with stakeholders to gather, document and validate business needs; translating objectives into actionable technical requirements and solutions
• Analysing Business Processes: Developing a strong understanding of business processes and data flows; identifying opportunities for reporting improvements, automation and standardisation
• Designing BI Solutions & Dashboards: Designing, prototyping, and validating dashboards/analytical outputs using Power BI and other tools with intuitive visualisations & decision-focused recommendations
• Managing BI Documentation: Maintaining clear and up-to-date documentation including requirements, dashboard designs, data definitions, and user guidance to support maintainability and adoption
• Improving Data Quality: Identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and anomalies in data; tracing issues to source systems and translating fixes into clear actions for both business and technical teams
• Facilitating Business-Technical Alignment: Acting as the primary link between business and technical teams, ensuring mutual understanding and guiding the successful delivery of solutions
• Driving Ownership & Delivery: Taking ownership of assigned initiatives and proactively managing priorities, providing regular progress reports, identifying risks and driving actions to completion
• Managing Users & Adoption: Guiding and training users in understanding and utilising solutions through walkthroughs, quick-reference notes and practical explanations
• Supporting Ad-hoc Initiatives & Transformation: Providing business analysis or coordination support for strategic and AI-enabled initiatives as requested by line manager to support evolving business priorities

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in a STEM field, Data Analytics/Engineering, or related discipline is preferred
• Proven experience (at least 3 years) in a similar role, delivering BI reporting in Controlling environment with strong focus on data accuracy and compliance
• Strong problem solving and analytical mindset, able to interpret complex data and processes
• Experience gathering, documenting, and translating requirements into functional specifications
• Experience creating dashboards and management reports using Power BI or similar tools
• Strong understanding of data governance, reporting standards, and BI best practices
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills

 Other nice-to-have skills:

• Familiarity with the shipping and maritime sectors
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with BPMN, process modelling, or business process re-engineering
• Exposure and familiarity with Generative AI, AI Agents or other emerging technologies
• Experience supporting business transformation or digitalisation initiatives
