CAD / Mechanical Designer – Production & CNC
Job Description
UNC Urban Noise Control is looking for a CAD / Mechanical Designer – Production & CNC to join our Design and Production team in Limassol.
This is not an Architect position. We are looking for a technically minded designer who can prepare accurate production drawings, fabrication details and CNC-ready designs, while also being able to understand architectural drawings and create basic 3D building geometry when required.
Main Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed production, fabrication and shop drawings
• Convert concepts, architectural drawings and site information into accurate manufacturing drawings
• Design components while considering material thickness, tolerances, clearances, fixing methods, joints and assembly
• Prepare drawings and files for CNC production
• Produce 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing and installation
• Prepare plans, sections, elevations and technical details when required
• Create simplified room or building models in SketchUp for import into EASE acoustic modelling software
• Coordinate directly with the production team to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Review prototypes and manufactured components and update drawings where required
• Prepare installation and assembly details
Essential Skills
• Very good knowledge of AutoCAD
• Good knowledge of SketchUp
• Ability to read architectural drawings, plans, sections and elevations
• Good understanding of dimensions, geometry and spatial relationships
• Understanding of material thicknesses, tolerances and manufacturing constraints
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to think practically about how components will be cut, bent, fixed and assembled
• Good communication skills in Greek and English
SolidWorks – Strong Advantage
Experience with SolidWorks will be considered a major advantage, particularly in:
• Sheet Metal
• Assemblies
• Production drawings
• Flat patterns
• Fabrication components
Additional Advantages
Experience or knowledge in any of the following will be considered an advantage:
• CNC routers
• CNC laser cutting
• Sheet-metal fabrication and bending
• Aluminium or steel fabrication
• CAD/CAM
• DXF preparation
• Product or industrial design
• Joinery or furniture production
Training can be provided.
We are open to candidates from backgrounds such as Mechanical Design, CAD Drafting, Product Design, Industrial Design, Fabrication Design or similar technical fields.
What matters most is the ability to move confidently between technical drawings, 3D modelling, production, CNC and installation.
