Cablenet is one of the leading telecommunications companies in Cyprus and a part of the Malta-based GO plc telecommunication-focused group of companies. The company provides innovative connectivity solutions and digital services to residential and business customers.
We are seeking an accomplished, analytical and strategically-minded finance professional to join as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), lead our company’s financial operations and drive organizational transformation. Reporting directly to the CEO and being an integral member of the senior executive team, the CFO will provide strategic financial and operational guidance to the executive team, Audit Committee and Board of Directors, while championing transformational initiatives across the organization. This is a pivotal role for a leader committed to driving change and enhancing shareholder value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial policies, controls, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
- Assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and Company’s long-term strategy.
- Provide critical financial and operational information to the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and the CEO; make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations to support the growth and profitability of the company.
- Initiate and lead improvements in Cablenet’s financial and management information systems.
- Direct the budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing and evaluating budget requests in alignment with the Company’s strategic plan.
- Oversee accounting, collections operations, and warehouse management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and inventory control to ensure fiscal discipline and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement cash management strategies to ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Initiate and effect cost-reduction opportunities and effective capital deployment allocation plans.
- Issue financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders; ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions, including internal controls.
- Manage the Accounting, Finance, Collections and Procurement & Warehourse teams, and the relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders.
You Will Succeed in This Role If You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Engineering; MBA or other relevant post-graduate degree highly desirable.
- ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualification would be considered a plus but not a pre-requisite.
- 5+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles and 12+ years overall professional experience.
- Experience in the Telecom industry would be considered a plus but not a pre-requisite.
- Broad IT skills and proven experience managing critical financial management systems, with proficiency in SAP ERP or similar large-scale enterprise systems and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms.
- Highly advanced analytical and financial modelling skills with meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in complex financial analysis, and exceptional eye for identifying patterns, discrepancies, and potential risks.
- Strategic planning and execution capabilities, with demonstrated experience driving organizational change and transformation while inspiring and managing people to achieve transformational objectives.
- Familiarity with and use of AI and automation processes, being put in practice to improve performance and output.
- Commercial acumen including contract negotiation, vendor management, and commercial focus to optimize business outcomes.
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex financial concepts, combined with extensive experience building and managing relationships with external stakeholders including regulators, tax authorities, banks, and legal counsel.
- Demonstrated strength in people and team management with ability to develop and retain high-performing finance professionals.
- Exceptional integrity, dependability, and unwavering commitment to results orientation and sense of urgency in delivery.
- Full fluency in both Greek and English languages.
