Compliance & AML Consultant
Job Description

In this role, you will support the Compliance function in monitoring regulatory requirements, performing compliance reviews and assisting with the implementation of effective AML and risk management practices across the firm.

What you will do:
- Support the Compliance team in performing Client Acceptance and Continuance procedures, including Client Due Diligence (CDD), Know Your Client (KYC), Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) assessments.
- Review client files to ensure compliance with applicable AML legislation, the requirements of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and the firm's internal policies and procedures.
- Conduct sanctions, adverse media and other compliance screenings using specialised compliance platforms.
- Assist with client risk assessments, compliance monitoring reviews and the evaluation of compliance-related risks.
- Support periodic compliance monitoring reviews and document findings and recommendations.
- Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, registers and supporting documentation.
- Monitor regulatory and legislative developments and assist with the implementation of relevant changes.
- Provide compliance support and guidance to internal teams and assist regulatory queries.
- Support the preparation and delivery of AML and compliance training and awareness initiatives.
- Assist with regulatory inspections, internal reviews and other compliance-related projects.
Profile of the ideal candidate
- University degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or another related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in AML, compliance, risk management or a similar role, ideally within a professional services firm or another regulated environment.
- Good understanding of Cyprus AML legislation and regulatory requirements, with knowledge of the compliance framework applicable to professional services firms regulated by ICPAC considered an advantage.
- Professional qualifications or certifications in AML or compliance will be considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with compliance, client screening or case management systems will be considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to exercise sound professional judgement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Greek will be considered an advantage.
