Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and is responsible for all actions and tasks performed by Line Cooks B' and C' (Demi Chef de Partie and Commis) and, if necessary, performs part of their duties.
- Coordinates and trains Line Cooks B' and C' or assistants (commis) assigned to their station.
- Applies predetermined standard recipes for all dishes and prepares food with accuracy, consistent taste, and proper presentation.
- Ensures the timely preparation of food.
- Knows, maintains, and ensures the correct application of all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Checks product stock within their area of responsibility and ensures the correct application of FIFO (First In - First Out) and FEFO (First Expired – First Out) procedures.
- Completes and submits orders for required products to the Sous Chef on time, contributing to the seamless operation of the department.
- Keeps their workspace organized and tidy.
- Immediately reports any breakdown or malfunction of machinery and equipment, informing the kitchen team via the designated communication group (Viber).
- Implements the internal operating rules of the hotel based on the employee handbook.
- Informs hotel management about incidents, observations, and developments affecting customers, hotel operations, and their specific job position.
- Reports any wear, damage, or breakage to buffet equipment, as well as utensils and dish presentation items, to ensure timely replacement or repair.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
- Graduate of a Secondary Hotel/Culinary School with a specialization in cooking.
- Three years of experience in a similar position.
- Time management skills, attention to detail, and adaptability.
- Communication skills and teamwork for smooth collaboration with other departments.
- Pleasant personality.
- Essential knowledge of the English language
