The role

We are looking for a hungry, hands-on finance professional to build an AI-assisted finance and reporting function inside Ergodotisi, and to take ownership of our reporting, financial controls, planning and cash, giving management and shareholders clear information for decisions.

You will design the function around AI tools from day one, so that one person, supported by automation, can run a fast and reliable finance process for a growing company. As the business grows and you prove yourself, the role has a clear path to CFO.

You will work directly with the CEO and the commercial team, with access to the Board on reporting and audit matters, supported by external audit and tax advisers. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, suited to an ambitious accountant or analyst, a few years into their career, who already uses ChatGPT, Claude or similar tools heavily and wants to take real ownership.

What you will own

• Monthly close and reporting. Build and run an AI-assisted monthly close, targeting around five working days after month-end. Prepare management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and net debt, with clear variance commentary and financial inputs for board reporting.
• Reconciliations and controls. Maintain bank, receivables, payables and intercompany reconciliations, automating them wherever possible. Track accruals, prepaid customer credits and deferred revenue under agreed accounting policies, with clear links between invoices, cash and earned revenue.
• Bookkeeping and payroll. From March 2027, take over bookkeeping and payroll from our outsourced provider, running them in-house with modern tools or through a low-cost payroll bureau, so the full finance process sits within Ergodotisi.
• Budgeting and cash planning. Maintain the annual budget, monthly forecasts and scenarios and a detailed month-by-month cash forecast for the next 12 months, covering debt service, tax, dividends and other commitments.
• Day-to-day financial discipline. Follow up overdue balances, review supplier invoices and spending against budgets, and prepare payroll and bonus calculations, agreed with the relevant managers.
• Compliance and entity coordination. Maintain the financial compliance calendar for the operating company and two holding companies. Coordinate accounts, audit information, tax filings and lender reporting with the appointed advisers.

Projects and business support

• Accounting transition. Coordinate the move to agreed IFRS reporting and revenue-recognition policies, preparation of comparative information and onboarding of new auditors, with specialist support.
• IP Box coordination. Organise the financial records, development-cost information and supporting documents needed by external tax and legal advisers. Track agreed actions and deadlines.
• Commercial analysis. Act as a business partner to the CEO. Analyse discounts, realised prices, customer and product performance, proposed offers and market data, including our competitor tracker. Maintain consistent KPI definitions and financial records for future due diligence.
• AI-assisted finance function. Build the finance function around AI tools from day one: automated data pulls and reconciliations, AI-drafted reports and variance commentary, and reusable templates, using ChatGPT, Claude, Excel and similar tools. Help the CEO identify other tasks across the company that AI can take on. Check AI-assisted outputs and retain a clear audit trail.

Priorities are agreed with the CEO. Sales, product and marketing retain ownership of commercial execution; this role provides the financial analysis and controls that support their decisions.

What you will bring

• A power user of AI tools. You use ChatGPT, Claude or similar tools every day and can show concrete examples of how they made your work faster or better. We don’t expect deep technical expertise, but we do expect curiosity, hands-on use and a strong willingness to learn.
• Typically 3–5 years of relevant accounting, audit, management reporting or financial control experience, with evidence of independently delivering close, reconciliations and useful management information.
• A relevant accounting or finance qualification, or equivalent practical experience. ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification, or progress towards it, is an advantage.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems, transaction data, budgets and cash forecasts. Experience improving a recurring finance process is valuable. Power Query, SQL or Python is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Cyprus accounting, VAT and payroll processes, plus the judgement to identify when specialist tax or technical accounting advice is needed.
• Fluent English, clear communication, attention to detail and reliable follow-through. Greek and experience with prepaid credits, subscriptions or digital businesses are advantages.
• Ambition to grow. A self-starter who wants real responsibility early and to grow with the company towards a CFO role.

What we offer

• €25,000–30,000 gross annually, depending on relevant experience and ability to own the remit, paid in 12 monthly instalments, plus participation in the company bonus scheme.
